KassenSichV law

The Cash Register Security Ordinance - also known as KassenSichV - is based on the Act on Protection against Manipulation of Digital Basic Records of 16 December 2016 and came into force on 1 January 2020. In addition to protection against manipulation, the KassenSichV also regulates the technical requirements for electronic recording and security systems, such as cash register systems, as well as the requirements for the cash receipt.

The so-called fiscalisation of cash registers is not new in Europe. For example, fiscal storage systems have been used in Italy since the early 1980s.

Germany is one of the last countries in Europe to introduce fiscalisation of cash registers. Until now, the finance ministries in the EU have not been able to agree on uniform standards. As a result, each country has developed its own fiscalisation regulations and therefore very different technologies are used.

fiskaly specialises in uniting the different legislations under one roof and offering a one-click solution.

Requirements for the receipt

Together with the KassenSichV, the obligation to issue receipts came into force in Germany on 1 January 2020. This means that every entrepreneur must hand out a receipt to their customers for all transactions. This video explains the most important points you need to consider when creating receipts.

In the picture below you can see a receipt example.
